Mathematics may take the form of pure mathematics, mathematical axiomatic, formal mathematics or mathematics deductively defined. The essence of mathematics is abstract, general, formal, objective, rational, and theoretical. Mathematics has a value includes the value because of its meaning, value or benefit because the purpose, value due to its function, and value because of its uniqueness.
Necessary to be able to cultivate mathematical understanding of the meaning of mathematics in various dimensions. Dimensional mathematical meaning can be seen from the side dimension of mathematics as an object of concrete objects and the dimensions of mathematics as an object of mind. Mathematical communication includes communication materials, formal communication, the communication of normative and spiritual communication. Communications material is dominated by the nature of mathematics from the direction of the horizontal nature of its vitality. Unit potentials involved are minimal when compared with other dimensions of communication. Formal communication of mathematics is dominated by correlational properties out or into the vitality of its potential. Normative mathematical communication is characterized by the properties of the appointment correlational decrease on the subject and object. Normative communication have a higher dimension due to the involvement of potential units more, wider, and more complex.
In relation to the learning of mathematics is more suitable to define mathematics as school mathematics, but for the college level, mathematics is defined as a formal mathematical or axiomatic. Mathematical acculturation contribute to the nation through innovation excellence of learning mathematics that is done continuously. In relation to obtaining the benefits of the nation, thought of as learning math mathematics and mathematics education at various levels of hierarchy levels or intrinsic, extrinsic, or systemic.

Teachers have three main functions: as a facilitator, as a teaching resource, and monitor student activities. Thus, teachers can develop a variety of learning methods: lectures, discussions, giving assignments, seminars, and others. Study or reference source is the central point in the learning of mathematics. Variations in study or reference source is needed, including books, journals, and access to the internet. Assessment conducted by assessment approach, portfolio, or authentic assessment.
