Traditional teaching methods are teacher-centered methods. Teachers seem frightening and authoritarian. The teacher only explained the material, give examples, and assignments to students. These teaching methods should be changed to student centered. Students should be given the opportunity to construct their own knowledge and develop them according to their talents and abilities. However, a teacher is difficult to abandon the old paradigm and towards a new paradigm.
Learning at SBI offered an opportunity for teachers to use the choice of teaching methods that are tailored to student ability levels and teaching materials : method of exposition by the teacher, the method of discussion between teachers and pupils and between pupils and students, problem-solving methods, methods of discovery (investigation), basic skills training methods and principles, and methods of implementation.
In SDSN, learn to be creative that is based on: knowledge on the various dimensions which include the nature, justification and occurrence; objects in various dimensions which include the nature and origin; the use of formal which include its effectiveness in science, technology and other sciences; and practices  on various dimensions more generally, including the activities of the elementary students.
Learning activities in SDSN is that teachers are able to deliver the students are creative and skilled in the areas of: learning is the search activity patterns and relationships, learning is the creativity that requires imagination, intuition and discovery, learning is an activity of problem solving, and learning is an activity to communicate.
The nature of how students learn at SBI are: students will learn if given the motivation, students learn in their own way, students learn independently and through cooperation, and students need a context and situations vary in their learning.
That teachers are better able to realize the revitalization of learning that fosters the creativity of elementary school students in organizing the teaching and learning through the preparation stage, the stage of learning, and evaluation stages.  
In SDSN, teachers have three main functions: as a facilitator, teaching resources, and monitor student activities. Thus, teachers can develop learning methods are at variance. Study or reference source is the central point in learning.

Pendidikan kejuruan memiliki tujuan mempersiapkan peserta didik untuk berkarir berbasis di kegiatan manual atau praktis, pekerjaan atau panggilan. Dalam rangka untuk memenuhi pasar tenaga kerja, pemerintah Indonesia (GOI) semakin mendorong investasi pendidikan kejuruan melalui organisasi pelatihan yang didanai publik dan disubsidi, termasuk membangun SBI (Sekolah Bertaraf Internasional). Dalam rangka untuk melakukan standar internasional, SBI perlu didukung oleh staf pengajar berkualitas dan profesional, fasilitas, dan manajemen yang baik. Guru menggunakan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa untuk berkomunikasi di pendidikan kejuruan karena faktor kunci keberhasilan proses pembelajaran adalah komunikasi. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru berbahasa Inggris, guru perlu:
1. Mengembangkan kurikulum dalam bahasa Inggris
2. Mengembangkan silabus dalam bahasa Inggris
3. Pengajaran mengembangkan konten dalam bahasa Inggris
4. Mengembangkan rencana pelajaran dalam bahasa Inggris
5. Mengembangkan lembar kerja siswa dalam bahasa Inggris
6. Mengembangkan sistem penilaian dalam bahasa Inggris
7. Melakukan pengajaran dalam bahasa Inggris
8. Berbagai interaksi dalam bahasa Inggris
9. Berbagai metode mengajar dalam bahasa Inggris
10. Berbagai media pengajaran dalam bahasa Inggris
11. Grup diskusi dalam bahasa Inggris
12. Memfasilitasi pembelajaran siswa dalam bahasa Inggris
13. Mempresentasikan hasil diskusi dalam bahasa Inggris
Agar pembelajaran dengan menggunakan bahasa Inggris di SMK berjalan lancar, maka perlu:
1.      Guru lancar berbahasa Inggris.
2.      Siswa diharapkan untuk berinteraksi dengan siswa lain untuk berkomunikasi dalam bahasa Inggris.
3.      Siswa harus diberi kesempatan yang cukup untuk mengembangkan konten pengajaran serta bahasa Inggris.
4.      Peran guru untuk memfasilitasi bahasa Inggris sebagai alat untuk berkomunikasi.
5.      Guru mendorong siswa untuk membiasakan berbicara dalam bahasa Inggris pada setiap kesempatan.
6.      Guru mengembangkan media dan alat bantu pengajaran yang mendukung isi pengajaran dalam bahasa Inggris.

UNY aims print staff, develop science education and science teacher, and print professional academics non-educational. Perspective of the global era not only penetrated the field of education alone but has been reaching out to all aspects of life. To reach the international level, UNY have an obligation to support government policy to develop the schools SBI / UNY RSBI and thus must take step leading international universities.
UNY has a long-term goal of becoming an international university with under 500 was also ranked universities in the world. Five-year program and the annual WCU program developed and implemented in the circuit to achieve medium-and short-term goals. WCU programs are developed as follows:

  1. Development of international standards  
  2. International-standard curriculum  
  3. International standard teaching and learning process  
  4. Assessment of learning outcomes of international standard  
  5. Teaching materials and teaching resources of international standard  
  6. Development of qualified international lecturers  
  7. Employee development and other education personnel to support the World Class University  
  8. Facilities and infrastructure supporting the World Class University  
  9. ICT-based management in order to support WCU  
  10. Library of international standard to support the WCU  
  11. Student competent international  
  12. Research and scientific publications of international standard  
  13. Devotion in society within the framework of WCU  
  14. Cooperation and international exchange

UNY WCU has implemented a program for 2 years (2008 and 2009) in Education Mathematics and Accounting. For two years, the implementation went smoothly but the quality and capabilities of faculty, students, employees, and educational staff speak English well, supporting facilities and the involvement of all parties must be increased in order UNY become increasingly robust international universities.
