Students have difficulty in learning while educators are not easy to change the style of teaching. Educators must always adapt to the demands of teaching methods to date. This view of learning that should be implemented namely: groups who argue that learning should emphasize on understanding the material (content focused - conceptual understanding); groups who argue that learning needs to prioritize the learning outcomes (content focus - performance); groups who argue that learning should be centered subject to the learners (learner focus - construction); and groups who argue that learning should start from the planning of classroom management that is conducive to learning (classroom focus - effective classroom).
Learning should provide an opportunity for teachers to use the choice of teaching methods that are tailored to students' ability levels namely: method of exposition by the teacher; discussion method; method of problem solving (problem solving); method of discovery (investigation), methods of practice basic skills and principles; method of application. Approach to education "conforming" tend to retain the old values; "transforming approach" is more about an order or oriented to the market, and approach to "reforming" education developed based on human values ​​according to context. "Instrumental Curriculum" more emphasis on academic and technical approach; "Interactive Curriculum" approach emphasizes the social and "individualistic Curriculum" more emphasis on cognitive development of the subject individual learners.
Competency-based education has become an alternative implementation of learning that emphasizes the skills that should be possessed by graduates. Breath of competency-based curriculum is on developing first-hand experience of learning, contextual teaching and learning (CT & L), meaningful teaching, with attention to life skills (life skills) in the form of generic skills (personal skills, social skills, academic skills and proficiency skills).
Learning paradigm changes required to make students feel happy and motivated in their learning, teachers need to realize the paradigm shift as follows:
Hijra, MOVE, CHANGE, INNOVATION, REFORM, CONTEMPLATE, REFLECTIONS from "traditional learning" to "progressive learning"
