REVITALISASI PENDIDIKAN MATEMATIKA”

Revitalization of mathematics education is an effort in the direction of mathematics education which practitioners are given the opportunity to conduct self-reflection, to then be faced with a multi-entry decision stance on the basis of in-depth study of a new paradigm has to offer. Revitalization of mathematics education tried to put the important role of teachers to make math education more appropriate to educate in the sense of meaning in truth and nature of science which is the object of learning itself. Until now, there has been no agreement on how best how to teach mathematics. Revitalization of mathematics education should depart from the self-reflection and reflection of individual educators factual conditions of practice learning. Learning mathematics provide an opportunity for teachers to use the choice of teaching methods that are tailored to student ability level and the material ajarnya as follows: method of exposition by the teacher; method of discussion, between teachers and pupils and between pupils and students; method of problem solving (problem solving); method discovery (investigation); basic skills training methods and principles.; and methods of implementation. Guidelines for the revitalization of mathematics education in the form of the basic assumptions of learning mathematics as follows:
  1. Mathematics is the search activity patterns and relationships.
  2. Mathematics is the creativity that requires imagination, intuition and invention.
  3. Mathematics is a problem solving activity
  4. Mathematics is a tool to communicate
  5. Mathematics Teaching Materials include: The facts: - information;-name;-term; convention, meaning (concepts): building a sense of structure; role of understanding the structure; conservation, the set, relationship patterns, sequences, models, operations, algorithms, Skills algorithms, reasoning skills, problem-solving skills, and Skills of Investigation (Investigation)
    Potential students can develop optimally, then:
  1. Pupils will learn if given the motivation.
  2. Students learn in their own way
  3. Students learn independently and through collaboration
  4. Pupils need the context and situations vary in their learning
    That teachers are better able to realize the revitalization of mathematics learning that fosters student creativity in organizing the learning of mathematics, through the preparation stage, the stage of learning, and evaluation stages.
