Realistic Mathematics emphasizes the construction of concrete objects as a starting point for students to acquire mathematical concepts. Four phases are the introduction of realistic mathematics learning, the creation and development of symbolic models, explanations and excuses, cover / application. Concrete objects and environment objects can be used as a context for learning mathematics in building mathematical connections through social interaction. Concrete objects manipulated by the student within the framework of efforts to support students in the process matematisasi concrete to the abstract. Students should be given the opportunity to construct and produce mathematics in a manner and language of their own. This requires teachers to design learning enterprise that builds students' construction of concrete objects. Assessment and analysis of learning mathematics that have been recorded in the Video Tape Recorder (VTR) is one way or businesses that can be done by the teacher.
A mathematical model of learning that has been recorded in the VTR certainly has its advantages and disadvantages. VTR has a weakness, for example: the limited point of view, not all aspects can be recorded, image quality, and image capture moments that are not appropriate. VTR can be used to explain the concept of fractions, simple fractions, mixed fractions, comparing fractions, order fractions, decimal fractions, subtraction and fractions with a denominator equal sum, different or in the form of mixed fractions, multiplication and division and fractions. Therefore, the use of VTR in the teaching of mathematics with a realistic approach can provide the following benefits:

- Teachers can test the concrete objects and environment objects can be used as a context for learning mathematics in building mathematical connections through social interaction.
- Teachers can explore and reflect on learning math concepts realistic.
- Teachers can exchange experiences with other teachers about the development of realistic mathematical learning.
- Teachers can reflect on the preparation of teaching and learning mathematics at SMP in accordance with the principles PMRI
- Teachers can reflect the development of learning resources for teaching and learning mathematics at SMP in accordance with the principles PMRI
- Teachers can reflect the development of assessment activities for teaching and learning mathematics at SMP in accordance with the principles PMRI
